Maplewood AGM November 9th 2005 @ Hammonds Plains Fire Hall 7pm
The meeting was called to order shortly after 7pm
Ron Jefferson the President welcomed everyone. He said he was disappointed with the attendance for the 2nd year in a row.

Karen Fraser went over all of the financial numbers. She explained all about the ratepayers to make sure everyone understood how it works. She talked about all of the expenses for the year and all of the revenue.
See report for all of the details. Motion by Lenora Bell to accept the operating budget and seconded by Isabel Winn.
Lynn Ford talked about all of the Social events from the past year. Including the Christmas party, skating party, yard sale and this years Halloween party. They are planning a Family skating party this year instead of at the fire hall. They are also planning a swimming party early in the New Year. Sean was there to remind everyone of his fundraising dance on Feb. 11th. They were also looking for people to help on the social committee.

Ratepayers Karen said we had spent $22,000 on the park. We had not spent all of the money from last year and had a surplus of $17,000 right now. Motion was made to accept the Ratepayers and Sean Litle seconded it.

Sean Litle There is $50 from each home that goes to our ratepayers. There were some questions that had come up with our boundaries. They were all cleared up at a meeting with the HRM staff.

Recreation Sean Litle. A new pad was put in this year and it was at a cost of $14,500. Hockey nets were ordered. Basketball standards were put in and a lock for the gate was installed. The plan was to put in the rink this year but we need someone new to take on the project. No one has come forward yet. HRM put up fences to keep the ATV’s. They need to put up one more fence link to make it work right. Trees will soon be thinned out by HRM soon. Police also want this done.

Proposals for next year see sheet. Motion from Sean to accept the Plans and guidelines as presented. Seconded by Graham Coade.
Motion to continue and accept the Ratepayers First by Jocelyne Carreau and seconded by Yvonne Madore. 16 were in favor and none against.

Bylaws no changes.

School There are 200 less kids at HPCS . No French resource teacher.

Water Phase 1 is done and Phase 2 is underway right now. Then work has to start on getting Phase 3 started.

The minutes came late to the meeting and were approved by Karen Fraser and seconded by Graham Coade.

Motion to adjourn the meeting by Sean Litle and seconded by Yvonne Madore.

Present at the meeting 9 community members and 8 executive members.

Michele Boone took minutes only because a real secretary could not be located.
